  • Fanikeshwar Nath Govt. College, Fingeshwar was established in 2013. Since then, Botany has been taught as one of the subjects. In 2013, when the college was shifted to its present building, a well-equipped laboratory of Botany came into existence.
  • There is 01 sanctioned post for the faculty of Botany, which is for an assistant professor.
  • There is 01 lab attendant working in this department.
  • The teaching and learning process is through PowerPoint presentation, by overhead projectors and also through conventional chalk and black board.
  • The department has a well-equipped laboratory, a herbarium collection, a botanical garden (naming of the plants in the botanical garden) with a green house.
  • The Botany Laboratory of our institution is a well-equipped and dynamic space designed to support practical learning and scientific exploration in plant sciences.
  • It provides students with hands-on experience in areas such as plant anatomy, physiology, taxonomy, microbiology, and environmental studies. The laboratory is furnished with modern instruments, microscopes, glassware, and preserved specimens to facilitate effective experimentation and observation.
  • A rich collection of slides, charts, and models further enhances the learning process.
  • The lab environment encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and research-oriented learning among students. Under the guidance of experienced faculty, students gain practical skills and scientific temperament essential for academic and professional growth in the field of biological sciences.
  • The Department of Botany actively engages students through a variety of academic and practical activities, including seminars, assignments, and model-making projects. Students are encouraged to participate in field visits to the college campus garden to gain hands-on experience in plant identification and cultivation practices.
  • The department also organizes gardening courses to develop practical skills in horticulture. In addition, students undertake sample collection of plants and related materials, which enhances their observational skills and understanding of plant diversity and ecological importance.
